In the second chapter the author of No Logo writes about how children are used as billboards because their parents buy them shirts with the logo printed on it. This concludes a positive reaction for companies but it makes our environment sink because our needs are all about the product and not actually the shirt or pants. Also a long time ago the shops decorated their windows with Christmas related object but now it is just a Christmas tree decorated with the logo everywhere. Companies try everything to make their logo stand out, so that they get rid of the other competition.
Furthermore Companies decided to use celebrities to identify their brand. For example Nike has a deal with Michael Jordan so that he wears clothes from Nike and not for example from Adidas. When celebrities wear branded clothes the public thinks it is a great idea and so wants to be just like them, it is the idea of "coolness". Companies and athletes, celebs and stars have a long term relationship so that they earn money but the companies get profit because more people buy more of the product since famous people wear it. This is called product placement which is when products are placed into movies or TV shows. For example a cereal box in Grey's Anatomy, this is from Kellogg’s. Hence this makes the product more famous and people buy it more. In conclusion anything that is famous will sell well to the people.
